First half
Arrogant Amphibians kicks to Zharr's Black Anvil. The Dwarves manages to pick up the ball and goes on the offence using a loose cage. The Amphibians tries several unsuccessful attacks to stop the cage managing little more than stalling the cage marginally. With just a few steps to go before Touchdown,  Philippe Le Coq finally manages to leap in and tackle Rud , leaving the ball in the open only centimetres from the end zone. Sébastién Le Boulle makes a spectacular leap scooping up the ball and hurls it upfield to the waiting Calvin Le Petit, the pass is a bit off target but the catcher makes a heroic jump to catch the ball and runs in the first Touchdown for the Amphibians.
Arrogant Amphibians kicks again, the four Slann catchers jump over the dwarfs defensive line making for the hobgoblin holding the ball. Seeing four Slann bearing down on him the hobgoblin backpedals but stumbles and drops the ball. Charles De Girl is first to the dropped ball, and runs in a easy touchdown, ending the first half 2-0 to the Amphibians.
Second half
Zharr's Black Anvil kicks. As soon as the ball is kicked two of the Slann catchers leap over the Dvarves defensive line, and start sprinting for the end zone, while the linemen starts the usual push and shove at the centre of the pitch. Sébastién Le Boulle passes the ball over the Dwarves line to the already sprinting Charles De Girl who scores his second quick touchdown of the match and secures the lead for the Amphibians.
Arrogant Amphibians kicks yet again but this time Poseidon the Bull Centaur leads a blitz down the left flank, sending Philippe Le Coq to the infirmary, and manage to open a large gap for Rud and his guards. With all nearby players pounded into the dirt, there is little the Amphibians can do but watch as Rud scores an easy touchdown while the crowds go berserk.
As the ball is kicked by Zharr's Black Anvil three of the Amphibians catchers yet again jump over the dwarves defensive lines and starts a mad dash for the end zone. This time the dwarves is more prepared and manages to keep up with the running Slann. Florian Grenouille finds an opening passing the ball to Charles De Girl who despite being chased by an angered dwarf manages to do a spectacular catch, and with yet another heroic leap hits the end zone, completing his hat-trick with three touchdowns scored.
By the time the teams are ready for another kick by Arrogant Amphibians the rampaging fans invade the pitch. When the dust settles, four of the Amphibians lie knocked out on the pitch, the dwarves had better luck, but Poseidon the bull centaur and Ganymede the hobgoblin lie face down in the grass.
With only seconds to go of the match the dwarves ignore the ball, and tries to exact some revenge by bashing the remaining Amphibians to the ground.
When the final whistle blows the scoreboards read 1-4.
Conclusion
The dwarves tried very hard to pound the Amphibians to pulp, but the slippery skin of the Slann saved them from coming to any real harm. This of course angered the Dwarves to the extent that they totally forgot the ball, and spent most of the match bashing their opponents.
Arrogant Amphibians on the other hand managed to stay focused on the ball, even though their teammates kept getting pounded left right and center. |
